That's not true. If I studied history I would probably know more about it than other people, but I could still certainly be wrong. For instance, I could bluntly deny some event in history that is just factually accepted, and I'd have no credibility. I still have to back up my claims with sources and facts. If I said like now "Ww2 never actually happened. I know this because I have a degree in history" I'd be wrong regardless of my academic qualifitications.

If I remember right, some sailors and marines used grenades in naval battles. That being said they were in such a ridiculously small scale that adding them would be a waste of everyone's time.
