Project Reality Mod[V1.5 - Polish Forces] | Squad [Alpha 11]
« on: August 27, 2014, 02:35:30 am »

Project Reality(mod) reworks Battlefield 2, developed by Digital Illusions of Sweden (DICE), to create the most realistic and demanding virtual combat environment for PC gamers possible. This process has included everything from making dramatic improvements to Battlefield 2's already esteemed visual and sound effects to perfecting a true-to-life ballistics system that immerses the player in the battlefield like no other shooter can. Project Reality also drastically ups the scale of the original Battlefield 2 by featuring vast and exceptionally detailed battlegrounds as large as 64 square kilometers that take the player everywhere from the fjords of Norway to the narrow desert alleyways of Iraq to fight in massive team-versus-team battles with as many as 100 players.

Time for some PR story time!

So, I was playing a match as the Syrian rebels with my family from Montreal, against a bunch of ISIS troops. Me and my 3 other cousins were crouched in a trench getting shot at by an MG non-stop. We were surrounded by about 8 other FSA troops and everyone was panicing.

So I'm thinking, "The guy on the MG only has one person helping him, we could just storm his ass and take the next hardpoint. Problem is no one is willing to move." I turn to my cousins and ask them if they have any plans.

All of a sudden my 12 year old cousin does something so stupid I couldn't believe it worked. He stood up in the middle of the trench and started screaming "Allah l'Ackbar" at the top of his lungs. At first I was completely confused and wondering if he'd lost his mind, then I saw all of the other guys around us start screaming it to. Then...

I jump in-front of everyone, scream "Takbir" at the top of my lungs, and RUSH the MG nest with everyone following me screaming random  fake Arabic. The guy was so confused he didn't kill any of us and got shot by one of the group.

Best. Gaming. Moment. Ever. Never underestimate the power of screaming "God is great" in a Middle-Eastern warzone.

There already is something like this.

It's called ArmA.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

But ArmA is not good for multiplayer pvp games due to poor performance :(

This looks great. I never played Project a reality, but I've heard nothing but good hints about it. I look forward to Project Reality 2.0 being released.

Uhmmm.... No, PvP in ArmA is fine. you have plenty of heavily modded servers with 80 people on there... Good performance. Yes, you need a good connection, yes you need an above average PC, yes, the server needs to be extremely good.

But ArmA has no performance issues.

You're one of the lucky few. Don't get me wrong, I love ArmA 2, but the f*cking game desyncs like a drunk figure skater..

I run an Arma 2 group with 50 people and we have never had a de-sync issue.
