It should also be noted that after the last patch using cavalry became a lot easier due to:

- Increased sword length ?
- Increased horse hit points
- No more rearing up of cav when hit by a bayonet
- Slow down of bayonets as a default setting for server admins (can be sped up by admins)

The next patch will add some balancing to cav again, I believe the heavy cav will get a speed increase while swords may be shortened again ?

Adding speed to the heavy cav will be interestingly lethal I suspect :D
It will certainly give us infantrymen greater reason to be afraid.

This is very cool! thanks for all of the tips! I think it would be really cool if cavalry played a larger role in NW. At the linebattle that our regiment goes to, there is little to no cavalry :(.

Tbh I don't care about cavalry anymore, it was pretty balanced back in MM and still pretty easy to play no matter your class ... kinda knew this "Re-balance" of the previous "Balance" was going to happen ... it was fine to begin with. All that needed to happen was lancers being unable to block but making swords long and horses with extra hit points ect was just rediculous imbalancement.

Glad its going back again.

I quite liked the ghost reach on cav swords if you were good enough you could cut down.loads of infantry while keeping them at safe distance didn't release it wasn't a deliberate feature. I was wondering about your suggestiond on cav vs cav I also felt slowing the enemy down or simply smaking them and then swinging across them was the easiest but i've always wondered what the other tactics are.
