Hi guys, great looking mod, should be really fun to play, WW1 is my favorite historical period and I am loving that it is getting some attention.
I have a few errors to point out with your Gewehr 98 and Kar 98az models however, so I hope you indulge me in the spirit of assisting your excellent mod be accurate as possible. Apologies if these have been pointed out before. In the renders you have shown here.
Gewehr 98, from left to right
Buttplate: Is a post 1942 style cupped buttplate, the buttplate should be flush against the stock.
Sling Attachment: The stock features a WW2 style through the stock hole for the sling, the G98 features a sling swivel attached to the underside.
Bolt Recess: The stock has a recess for the curved bolt for finger clearance, not present on WW1 G98's.
Rear Sight: This is a flat ladder sight, it should be a 'Lange Vizier' style 'rollercoaster'.
Rear barrel band: This should have the front sling swivel, the wooden hand grip should also extend past the barrel band slightly
Barrel band spring on the right side this should not run the entire length of the barrel to the front band, on the left side there is no spring present.
Front bandIs lacking the stacking hook
Front sightHas the WW2 reinforcement band around it, the front sight should sit directly on the barrel with no band around the underside.
K98az from left to right:
Buttplate: Is a post 1942 style cupped buttplate, the buttplate should be flush against the stock.
Stock Pre 1916 Kar98AZ had no stock take-down disc (the silver circle on the butt) and no groove in the front for the fingers, post 1916 Kar98az had the disc and the finger grooves (currently this model has stock disc but no finger grooves)
Rear barrel bandThis is a WW2 band currently, the Kar98az has a screw on the right side that holds the band in place.
Band SpringsThe Kar98az has no band springs.
Front bandThis is currently a WW2 barrel band, the real Kar98az differed in many details, the photo attached should show the correct front band.
Front sightThis currently has a WW2 sight hood, the Kar98az has a 'bunny ear' arrangement.
