Looks good, hope you get a good team.

Why don't people get the team first then start the mod instead of the other way around?

Many people do it on impulse and don't really think it through, or they aren't patient enough and just want to get things started.

And you can see hundreds of examples on the Pioneer's Guild, even quite a few here, of what that impulsiveness and lack of patience will result in.

The Second Boer War, in my opinion was very "cool"
for a lack of a better term

Find a better term, I'd say. 'Cool' isn't really applicable to one of the more shameful wars in my country's history.

I mean, the British set up concentration camps for crying out loud.

Anyhow, wouldn't rely on the Zulu War stuff as Gokiller said. Red uniforms were out by the second Boer war, and I'm quite sure that the Lee-Enfield would be being used, though I'm hardly knowledgeable about the early 20th century, so find out for sure.
Crawling back to you,
Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? 'cause I always do.

Lee Enfields would've been pretty new. Probably a few Lee-Enfields and then Martini-Henrys or something. I don't know though.

Sort of, these weapons I name now were used by the Boers(from early to late):
-Martini-Henry Rifle
-Guides Rifle
-Mauser
-Lee Metford

The difference between a Mauser and Lee Metford is that the Mauser has 5 bullets, the Lee Metford 10, BUT you had put all the 10 bullets yourself at the Lee Metford, which took time, while the Mauser was made to place 5 bullets in the rifle at the same time.
The Mauser was also way more accurate.
The Boers mainly had a lot of Lee Metford rifles, because they made a lot of British prisoners of war, so they could never run out of ammo.

Lee Enfields would've been pretty new. Probably a few Lee-Enfields and then Martini-Henrys or something. I don't know though.

Lee-Enfields had been widely issued by this time. Lee-Metfords were usually restricted to second-line and support troops. Martine-Henry rifles were mostly used by poorly equipped colonial troops. The New Zealanders, for example, were intially armed entirely with Martine-Henry rifles. The Canadians, on the other hand, were well armed with Lee-Enfields and a number of American made sidearms, mainly Colts.

Another weapon the Boers used a number of was the Krag-Jørgensen, a heavy and not particularly useful Norwegian bolt-action.

As Van_Hulstein states, the Boers had the advantage in regards to arms. The Lee-Metford had serious issues, not the least of which was the use of black-powder. The Lee-Enfield solved some problems, but was still plagued by others, like bad sights. By World War 1 the Lee-Enfield was superior to the Mauser in almost every regard, but during the Boer War they couldn't even take chargers.

If you give the Boers Lee-Metfords, you should think of a way to represent the Lee-Enfield ammunition destroying the rifle. It was the same bullet and cartridge, but the Lee-Metford could only handle black-powder, whereas the Enfield used cordite propellent.

Speaking of which, what sorts of colonial units will be available? Perhaps Canadian, or Australian units?
