Another question, why can most frenchmen barely speak english?

the real question is why those closed-minded English can't speak another language?

Why can't those closed-minded English speak another language AND why can't frenchmen barely speak english? :P

Napoleon is one of the best things that have ever happened to Europe, especially Germany.

Can't see how several million dead was good for Europe as a whole, but definitely benefited Germany and Britain. In the case of the former abolishing the HRE led to one of history's biggest unintended consequences.

Those dead would've probably died if Napoleon wouldn't have been dead. Jsut in many more, but then smaller, wars.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

Several millions?

Estimates range from 3-6.5 million dead between 1800-1815. As many as 1 in 5 French males born between 1790-1795 died in Napoleon's wars. Great book on casualty figures throughout history I always turn to: https://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Warfare_and_Armed_Conflicts.html?id=kNzCDgAAQBAJ&redir_esc=y

The Wikipedia page is also fairly good on this. By 1815 France was left with a male to female ratio of 0.857! Given Napoleon bragged about 'spending' 30,000 lives a month this isn't really surprising. If you want to know why Germany now dominates Europe, it's because of Napoleon a) abolishing the HRE, little more than a corpse post-1648 but which served as an obstacle to proper German unification, and b) totally screwing up France's demographics.

Napoleon also bragged about killing 30.000 troops at Austerlitz by shooting the ice the Russian/Austrian soldiers fled over and drowning them. That number was actually 2.

English people can't even speak English.
True that...

Also the reason why French people can’t speak any other languages properly is because they refuse to do it. Everytime we get French clients at my job they expect us to know French. They don’t speak English or are not even trying to. If we don’t understand them what they want then it would be so called “our fault”. I gave up by trying to speak French to them. I just speak Dutch and if they get mad, well not my problem.

Don't be such a soyboy, Toffee. The world's population consists of more than just the Dutch and French, who aren't exactly beloved themselves anyway.
