Well, some info would be nice:

How old are you (more specific?)
What period do you want to do?
What role/kind of regiment do you want?

Well, as you're fourteen, I suppose musician (drummer or fifer) is a very practice and do-able role.

Sadly, I know nothing about re-enactment about those parts, so hope for someone else, or try googling stuff. Don't limit yourself to your County, though, It's very likely they are further away then that.

We didnt need plumes and lacing to get the job done!
Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

Zouaves lasted a year or two. After that, their uniform was pretty much changed to standard uniforms. :P

But to be fair, the civil War had its own flair and napoleon classic.

I present you..the 3rd New Jersey Hussar

All of this is real yes, how their uniform lasted than others....well they entered the war in 1863. So.....The Butterfly Hussars still proved themselves in the war despite other men dying of laughter at their appearance.

I was actually trying to find them but for some reason they didn't pop up, except for a lieutenant whose uniform was only half-shown.

Oh, Napoleonic parade uniforms never lasted a a campaign. Don't believe the paintings, it was all just a mess.  :P

Are you a wizard?
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

Yes, their magic trick is making lee's army disappear.

Also,
