Let's also appreciate the preservation of our unique (and uniquely amazing) cultures and history.
Let's accept and enjoy these differences.

I'll start:

I'm first from Texas.
Then the South.
Then the United States.

I take pride in my state and region for its culture of individualism and striking beauty. I take pride in my country for its accomplishments since its conception, chiefly being the *the* superpower for the last 70+ years.

I take pride in my paternal ethnic roots for the amazing history behind Central Asia, India and British colonialism.

My maternal roots are involved in WW2 with several of my distant family members taking part in the defense of the Philippines in the early stages of the war in the Pacific.

My family is from the mountains of Lebanon.

My family is from the mud swamps in China. My dad grew up in a mud hut and my mom grew up in a bourgeoisie family. When the Japanese occupied China my grandma lived in Japan occupied China, but I don't think anyone in her family was killed in the war. My grandfather was an engineer until the communists came and forced him to work in the mines. Now they're all in America and China is still a communist slum, but at least my grandparents have fun going back there.
