Whigs & Tories / Give me my Swede !
« on: August 29, 2015, 03:28:55 pm »
Playing on the official server. I jokingly said put Sweden in the mod :P. By the response, from what must have been filthy Danes, this was not a popular idea.

And so to piss off the Danes i needed to find a way of putting a Swede in the mod and i found it !

Since the french will have there own faction. They need a general witch i guess would be Comte de Rochambeau and by extension you could put in his aide-de-camp Axel von Fersen

Hans Axel von Fersen 4 September 1755 – 20 June 1810) was a Swedish count, Marshal of the Realm of Sweden, a Lieutenant General in the Royal Swedish Army, one of the Lords of the Realm, aide-de-camp to Rochambeau in the American Revolutionary War, diplomat and statesman. He is famous in history as the "friend" of Queen Marie Antoinette of France, and because of his death at the hands of a Stockholm lynch mob.

On meeting Washington, Fersen remarked:

"He has the air of a hero; he is very cold, speaks little, but is polite and civil. An air of sadness pervades his whole countenance, which is not unbecoming to him, and makes him the more interesting."

The Battle of Rorke's Drift, also known as the Defence of Rorke's Drift, was a battle in the Anglo-Zulu War. The defence of the mission station of Rorke's Drift, under the command of Lieutenant John Chard of the Royal Engineers, immediately followed the British Army's defeat at the Battle of Isandlwana on 22 January 1879, and continued into the following day, 23 January.
Just over 150 British and colonial troops successfully defended the garrison against an intense assault by 3,000 to 4,000 Zulu warriors. The massive, but piecemeal, Zulu attacks on Rorke's Drift came very close to defeating the tiny garrison but were ultimately repelled. Eleven Victoria Crosses were awarded to the defenders, along with a number of other decorations and honours.
