Launching Issues
« on: March 25, 2016, 10:04:27 pm »
Having some technical difficulties. I will try and launch Mount and Blade from Steam and the launcher that allows you to pick the module your playing doesn't even show. Tried the stuff with NVida and Geo force but to no help. Anything is appreciated, thanks.

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing?
Tried verifying the cache through Steam?

Update me after you have tried doing those, try verifying the cache first, if that doesn't fix it, try re-installing.

By the Nvida and Geforce stuff, does that include Shadowplay?

Yes to all of those questions, a couple buds and I have tried to come up with a fix but are pretty stumped.

Hmm, I really don't know what can be causing it then :/

Perhaps try manually deleting your Mount & Blade folder, then trying to re-install?

I'll give that a shot since I did only uninstall it from Steam, thanks for the advice.

Update: Didn't work either.

I'm sorry pal, really out of ideas now. Try posting on the TaleWorlds forum aswell if you haven't already. Make sure to include all the fixes you have tried so they don't suggest it over again.

Otherwise, if I come up with something I'll post it on this thread. Good luck.

Sorry if it's been suggested before. But did you try updating your audio drivers? I had that problem with a couple of other games and it fixed it.

Hmm.. the splashscreen for module selection is not showing up? Might be a case of too many modules in the \Modules folder. I think the limit is around 30ish. So try moving some old modules you do not play often out of the folder and archived in another folder, that may be the solution for this kind of issue. Else if the vanilla game with just three Modules is still having this issue, then this is tricky.

Else one Taleworlds forum user reported this solved the issue. Which is quite a longshot.
So went through every trick i saw in this forum and some other stuff as well to no avail. Goofed off for a bit because i had a suspicion it might be a direct x problem still and heres how i fixed it.

My computer/Program files/Steam/Steam apps/Common/Mount and Blade warband/DirectX/DXsetup

I was running the latest directX 11 on windows 7, this morning i got the update drivers screen, did so and then this game wouldnt work. I downloaded driver detectors, re-started the cpu, system restore for 3 days ago, un installed video cards and re-installed, deleted the game and re-installed, verifyed cache and a variety of other tactics that all failed. Just on the verge of saying screw it and giving up and tried this on a whim. Mission success!!

Hope this helps some other frustrated folks.

I also read disabling Shadowplay seems to fix it, so I hope this helps.

Hello.. I have a problem... It says I don't have Mount&Blade Warband: Napoleonic War and I have to buy it
Try joining a regular Napoleonic Wars server and then re-running the installer.
