Star Citizen is a space simulator that incorporates the features of several past games and seeks to expand upon this is one game that includes both singleplayer campaign elements with the multiplayer open world experience. It includes 1 campaign on launch to be added on, and a massive ever expanding persistent universe with graphics that make PSNoob and Shitbox One wish they had invested in the PC market. Here are some smexy videos explaining the game in more detail than I could hope to do without writing a 6,000 word essay:

Backing The Project
Star Citizen was rejected by major publishers initially due to the belief that the market for space games of this nature was dead, so Chris Roberts, the developer, turned to the recently accredited Kickstarter where hard pressed artists of any nature can get their work funded through donations on the promise of exclusive content and such.
Star Citizen initially had a pledge goal of 500,000 USD on kickstarter and managed instead to achieve 2.5 million by the end of its kickstarter campaign. A healthy surplus which resulted in the addition of many new features. The game is now estimated by the developers to cost 20,000,000 USD to make and so far they have attained 34,000,000 USD through donations. 2 million in the past 6 days alone, and 1 million of that being from the past 2 - thus making Star Citizen the most crowd funded project ever.
So why donate? Well the reasoning is simple. It cannot be said now whether the game will be good, but currently for only 40 USD which is about 27 GBP (Fuck you, euros) you can get the following:
- 1,000 credits
- RSI Aurora (Shitty ship)
- Beta, Alpha and the final game
- 3 months ship insurance (Yolo for realism)
This might seem some what of a waste or a pay to win thing, but considering most new games cost 60 USD or 40 GBP (Again, fuck you euros) asking for a mere 40 USD for something as promising as this is not a lot. So consider donating and research more on the website because this shit is cheap!
