◇ North American Cavalry Groupfighting 5.v.5 Tournament ◇
« on: February 27, 2017, 07:58:38 am »

The NA Cavalry Groupfighting 5v5 Tournament is one based on a solid rule set and an administration team making sure that the tournament moves along as smooth as possible. The tournament will be based on any group of individuals willing to come together, regardless of regiment affiliation. We embrace all Napoleonic Wars players to participate, from both the Cavalry community and Infantry community alike. The tournament will be ran on the set of rules outlined and assured integrity of matches will be upheld by the entire staff. We will also be using this tournament to gauge the level of community interest for future cavalry events!

Server Information

In-game Server:

NA_Cavalry_Groupfighting || Server located in Chicago

Tournament Rules

1. - Anyone is allowed to sign up, regardless of regiment affiliation. However, each player is only allowed to be a part of one team for the entire duration of the tournament.

2. - Five players will have to be participating for a team at any given time. If a team does not have five players present at the agreed start time of the match, then there will be a 5 minute grace period given until they can get five players present for the match. After the 5 minute grace period, if the team has 3+ members present, they will be given the option either to proceed or forfeit.

3. - All players on a team must be the same unit. This applies to the same class types as well. However, teams may request a maximum of 2 resets each, if they wish to swap to a different unit.

4. - The unit choices are as follows: Hussar, Lancer, Heavy Cavalry, and Dragoon.

5. - No shooting (this includes pistols)

6. - No invites allowed. You must play with the players submitted with your line up.

7. - Each team may only have one officer and one special unit (trumpet, flag, etc.) in the match at any given time.

8. - Matches will be played in a coliseum Cavalry Groupfighting map.

9. - Matches will only be played on the NA_Cavalry_Groupfighting server.

10. - No wallhugging, rockhugging, or treehugging is permitted.

11. - During a match, the admin team is to be held to the highest respect and has the final dictation on all rulings on the field. If an admin is disrespected during the duration of a match or in the thread, consequences may apply to the individual(s) involved ranging from a slay during the match to removal from the tournament.

12. - Both sides must remain at spawn at the beginning of a round and wait for the admin to ask if both sides are ready and follow it up with a "Go" written in admin chat before any side can move out. It is required that only officers give a ready confirmation when asked if ready.

13. - Behave; any sign of disrespect, bad mouthing, or flagrant language is forbidden during the match.

14. - Matches will be played in a best of three setting until the semi-finals are reached, where matches will then be played in a best of five setting.

15. - The use of fists during the match is prohibited.

16. - Matches will be played using the medium melee speed setting.

17. - Early dismounting is not allowed.

Additional Information

It is a single elimination tournament. If anyone has been to a PLG or CG tournament after their respective trainings, it will be similar to that, just on a larger scale. It is expected to take only one evening to finish the tournament, however if sign ups exceed expectations then we may plan for two evenings. We estimate it will be roughly two hours to complete, and at most three.

Keep in mind this is meant to be a casual style tournament. All are welcome to participate regardless of skill. Some may treat this very professionally and be competitive, while others may just want to jam with it. As long as players act within the rules, there will be no issue.

Subs are not only for an emergency situation if the team is lacking players. Subs can be used freely to swap out current players at the team's discretion. However, make sure to do so quickly, as there will still be a limit on the amount of resets that can be requested by each team per match.

Hey everyone. Squirts previously made this thread but the 63e leadership thought it best to focus primarily on their current competitive line with the NANWL.

The current admin team will be taking the reigns in regards to this thread, and if anyone would like to also help out with running it, please let me know on steam.

If you previously signed up for the tournament, please do so again. Sorry for the hassle. Also keep in mind we only need ONE steam link from another person on each team.

Thanks folks! :)

Yes, because what Silly said is untrue. We are not even in NANWL. No idea where he came up with that assumption.

Why I actually stepped down was broken trust amongst an unnamed individial of the moderation team. But what has happened has passed. I wish the tournament and any future league or tournaments to prosper and do great in the future. Kick some ass for the cavalry community boyos!

Glad that the thread design will still be used, good knowing that the hour or so I spent working on it is put to good use. Do  well guys, cheers.

Nah mate. You don't know anything. It was clearly that the 63e Reich decided that they only care about their line and told every other part to fuck off.

Very sad to hear that some people can't compete when it is opened to the whole community for fun :(
