I think I am already getting used to the melee, what I will never be used to is the tanking and the poking.

Same yeh, best thing about this update is that they added an anti-cheat feature
That's funny to see posts like this from the guy who was using unblockable and changed his nickname after he got spotted. Nice one algerian boy.

When it comes to cavalry, it really seems like you need twice as many hits to kill a hussar and especially a heavy. It‘s almost impossible to kill a heavy horse with one or two hits when you‘re dismounted.
Can I just say that I’m really impressed with the cav community, 10x more mature than the inf community and a lot less tolerant of the cancerous players

I frankly don't mind the new melee all that much. To me it seems a lot faster on NA while it's a whole lot slower on EU than it used to be before the patch.

In contrast to other opinions I experience the melee as slower, still I think the range is a good feature since it's a lot more realistic not getting ghost hitted anymore. Chambers are a bit harder, same with blockchambers which I die from mostly atm (somehow the counting time of the Block is reduced while the animation is still there).

I personally would remove the random pokes from distance hits, just keeping the close hit-pokes while reducing the amount of them. About tanking: I never did Many one hit kills (nor kills in general ayy) but it appears that some hits damage less than they used to.
