It’s with huge gratitude and thanks that I step back from my role here on the forums, and hand things off to Herishey.  Herishey has been a longstanding member of the community and has done a lot of things to maintain and improve the community through his time as a member of the community, through his time as CR, and even presently as a Senior Moderator.

In many ways he (as well as some of you) have grown up and been a part of this community for quite some time.  I think we can all appreciate the growth we’ve had, in part, due to this game and to this community.  It’s with these feelings and my full confidence in Herishey’s ability to take this forum into these next seasons I hand things off.  I truly appreciate everyone’s support, and look forward to seeing what the forum becomes in the future.

Thank you all again.

Released Mods / Getting your own Sub-Board
« on: February 01, 2022, 04:56:46 am »
In order to obtain a sub-board for your mod, please read the following post and take note of the rules and regulations surrounding the use of a Sub-Board on this forum.

Requirements for a Sub forum
  •     There must be a playable version of the Mod available for Public Download.
  •     The initial Mod thread (On the In Development Forum) must have 15+ pages of relevant replies, and show signs of recent activity
  •     The mod must be large enough to warrant a board of it's own
  •     The mod must be compatible with the latest stable version of M&B: Napoleonic Wars
  •     For legal purposes, mods which include use of third-party intellectual property (For instance, pre-existing lore or background information from books or games) cannot be considered eligible for a sub-board

Applying for a sub board
The lead author of the modification must write a pm to a forum moderator with the information stated below. The request will be considered and if the requirements are met, the board will be created in due course. Please note that the forum moderator team may refuse any request for a sub-board at their own discretion. If your request for a sub-board is denied, there will likely be a valid reason given by the moderator in question. If and when the issues raised are resolved, you may re-apply for a sub board, highlighting your resolution of those issues. Repeated requests for sub-boards will be ignored, and potentially punished.

When applying for a sub-board, please include the following details in your PM:
    •     The name of the Sub-Board or Modification
    •     Moderator(s). Initially these will be granted to a maximum of Two team members. If there is significant need for further moderators, then requests for more moderator positions can be submitted by either of the two existing moderators on the board. Please note that we will refuse privileges for any member who we feel is unsuitable for the privilege.
Additional Sub-Boards

Mod authors or teams who require multiple sub-boards within their initial mod board may submit requests for the extra boards a minimum of 2 days after their original board has been created, and once an additional set of requirements have been met.
  • There must be an obvious need for the extra sub-board to be granted. Examples of these requirements would be an extra board for Clan threads, or event organisation
  • The mod team applying for the board must have shown their capability and maturity in moderating the existing board they have been given, for a minimum period of 2 days after their initial board was granted.
Sub-Board rules

The rules applied to the general forum also apply to any sub-boards created here. Additional rules may be put in place by the sub-board moderators, provided they do not contradict pre-existing rules laid down by the global forum moderators.

The moderation of a sub-board is the responsibility of the Moderators of that board. This means that it is the Moderators responsibility to maintain the rules within their own board, however the Global moderation team will intervene in the event of gross rule infringement, or if a moderator seems unwilling or unable to maintain the global forum standards within their board.

Any complaints about a moderator of a sub-board should be brought to the attention of our global Moderator staff via PM.

Removal of Sub-Boards

A sub-board may be removed at any time by the Global Moderation staff, without prior warning or further explanation. Mod developers are required to maintain the activity of their mod, and any mod which looks abandoned is at risk of removal by the moderation staff. If a mod team decides to drop a project and therefore no longer require a sub-board, then we ask that they please inform us of their decision so that we can deal with the board in question. Failure to do so may adversely affect your chances of getting a sub-board for other mods in the future.
In addition to this, there must always be a downloadable and current version of the mod available for play. If for any reason this is not possible, then the mod team have a maximum of 7 days to resolve the issue, before the global moderator team intervene.[/list]

Hello all! We have created a new sub-board for the competitive tournaments under the Events board in order for you to more easily navigate the forum and find the kind of event you are looking for. All competitive tournaments and events will be located in this new sub-board, and the regular events will remain in the same area that they were in before.

In order to further help the organizers of larger tournaments, we also support and encourage the creation of sub-boards for larger tournaments. If you are the host of a tournament/event and wish to apply to have your own sub-board created, you can head over to here and submit an application to have your own sub-board created, should you meet all the crtieria required.

Best regards,
The FSE Moderation Team

Events: SA / BCoF Event/Tournament Child Board Request
« on: February 01, 2022, 04:45:29 am »
All -
With the creation of the new sub-board, the moderation team/CRs have discussed and determined that you can now submit applications for your respective areas' event.  Here's the criteria (please ensure you meet the criteria prior to submission), and the application form.  The moderation team will process these request(s) and respond to the organizer(s) of the event.  We're currently determining the proper channel for following up, but for the time being, please submit follow-ups to me.

Criteria

1) Recurrence:  The activity in the child board needs to be more than a once-per-year activity.  This means that as long as people are talking about previous, current, or future seasons, you meet the criteria.
2) Quality/Moderation: The competitive event needs to show they've ran well over a sustained period of time (minimum of two instances - seasons, iterations) with good management (both in quality of character as well as consistency of event).  We need to be able to trust that the organizers will help bring life into the community.
3) Transparency:  The competitive event needs to be open for the public - as long as a regiment/group can follow the rules, they are welcome to participate in said event.
4) Numbers:  The competitive event needs to be active and applicable to a vast majority of the community.

**As a reminder, please bear in mind that if/when one of these criteria changes, please bear in mind that consequences (leading and up to) removal of the board can take place.  While these are criteria, bear in mind that moderation will take these up on a case-by-case basis.  Moderation also reserves their right to modify the application process at any time.**

Application
Code
- [b]Organizer(s) Name(s)[/b]:
- [b]Organizer(s) Steam Information[/b]:
- [b]Event's Steam Group Information (if applicable)[/b]:
- [b]Event Name[/b]:
- [b]Previous Event Thread(s) (if applicable)[/b]:
- [b]History/Background[/b] (looking for a short 4-5 sentence summary of the history/creation of the event and why it would be worthwhile adding a child-board for this event):
- [b]Board description[/b] if applicable, what would you like your board description to be?
- Has your event started and completed at least twice?  How often are you planning on hosting this event?

- What is the average attendance for this event?  (You can either give regiment numbers, people in attendance - this can be a round number):
-  Are there any criteria(s) for entering in this event?  Yes/No; [b]if yes, list them in order for us to verify they are in line with the rules[/b].

- Who else will require board moderator permissions?  Please list their name, a link to the forums, and a Steam link as well (if applicable).

- You and the other administrators will receive board moderation permissions, in order to manage the event well.  Will you agree to use your power(s) wisely, and commit to making decisions that benefit [b]everyone[/b] involved?

[i][b]If there are any abuse(s) of power, the moderation team reserves the right to punish those that have board moderator privileges, up to and including removal of your child board and closing of the topic.[/b][/i]

Thank you!

We will give this till 12 am central US on the 26th before we lock in who can run and put up the thread for people to vote in.

Troll apps will not be added, and you must answer all of the questions in the app.  Consider this your warning.  I'll try and update the op daily, other mods can update it as well.  Check the stickied threads for help.

Why should you become CR?: I've been a part of this community for quite some time now and I think I could represent the majority of the people still playing this game and still being in this community. I personally would consider myself to be an "oldgen" player since I originally started playing this game when it was still MM. But also, since I took a fairly long break from this game, I'm also somewhat of a newgen in terms of mostly competetive play and also this community in general. So I think I could be a voice of both sides - the oldgen players but also the newgen players.

Furthermore I'd also say I dont have any personal conflict or feud with anyone in this community and do consider myself to be a mostly liked - at least not hated - personality in this community. Since I'd be representating the people in this community as a whole I say this is quite an important feature to have.
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I will try to bring the different parts in this community more together. I will try to build somewhat of a bridge between the more competetive side of this game and the more casual side. We should use the last year(s) of this game - I know this has been said since 2014 - to build a friendly community and leave all the personal conflicts and hatred some people have for one another aside and just enjoy playing this game together

Why should you become CR?: I've ran many times on the same platform, help event hosts and keep the game alive through good admins and a solid foundation in what's left of the community.
What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? I'm not going to promise events that may or may not be successful all that I can guarantee is maintaining the game as it is now and help any events that pop up along the way.

Are you aware that the position of Community Representative is one of trust and confidence, and do you understand you can be punished for breaking that trust?: I do in full.

Why should you become CR?: In my previous term as NA CR I: Hosted a successful and (from what I heard from those who played in it) fun 3v3 tournament, reffed what felt like over half of all NA comp matches these past few months, acted in an advisory role with multiple different casual and competitive regiments, and in general did my best to steward the community as best I could. If elected to a second term, I will do the same as best I can. Recently the casual community has started to take a bit of an uptick in player size, breaching the 160-170 player mark for a casual event for the first time in what feels like forever- I want to continue to advise and support regiments in order to keep these events and regiments active.

What are one or two things you commit to doing as CR this term? Continue to referee in the case of any and all competitive events (Currently the draft league) and admin in the case of casual events on my free time. I am also open to hosting another seasonal tournament for the NA comp community along the lines of my 3v3 Winter tourney, though with the details open to be discussed (IE whether it is a 3v3 or otherwise, whether 1 sword 2 bayonets or 3 bayonets etc). I will also continue my efforts to moderate the NA side of the FSE forums when I can!

GL to all candidates, EU and NA
