Good idea for a thread.
Interesting to see how many are thinking about the military for a career.

I'm in my 4th year of a medical degree, currently thinking about either A&E, Paediatrics or both as specialties, but still have a while to make up my mind. Also keeping in mind other countries as options if things get much worse. Definitely going to take a year out after Foundation Years to locum, travel and explore different career options. One of my housemates is taking 2 years out starting this summer to do the same thing.

Enrolling in a general computer science degree with the plan to focus on cyber security after. Still deciding whether or not to work for the government or head into the private sector.

Currently in the USMC reserves leaving for boot camp in 2 weeks. MOS is data networking, basically IT. With all the credits and certificates I get through my job training in programming, networking, and cyber security I'll be going to college aswell and hopefully getting a degree in software engineering. End goal is to stay in the reserves but also work for a high end company or potentially at the Pentagon.

After University maybe I'll go on a tour for fun, depends on where I am in life and if I have any job offers towards the end of my schooling.

Personally, I've gone through several career changes and found that vocational training programs can be a fantastic way to gain the skills needed for specific jobs.
