Because it's their country and they're proud of it?

I am a bit unsure why the french would say "Long live the Fatherland"

Fatherland isn't just a german thing. It's been used by many nations. It's more like homeland I guess but the concept remains the same.  You can sort of see the roots because père is father and pays (pronounced payees) is country. It sort of sounds like patrie when put together. I don't speak the best French but I'll try to give more.

A l'attaque - to the attack or just attack
A la bataille - to battle or to the battle

Do these Shouts appear in native Nw? I would like to keep these limited to the game, however I do like learning more :D.

I never hear France saying "For the Fatherland" or something like it. I guess its stereotypical or what not to just say Fatherland-Germany, and Motherland-Russia. I blame society.
In the end, regiments end in the same way. The only thing that matters is how long where you there?

Because it was generally a Napoleonic/Revolutionary thing. You won't hear that much nowadays or even really anytime after 1815.

These are in NW and NW only. The French often say vive la patrie.

If you're really want some I suppose
FR Commands/Cries from what I make from it/research idk:

chargez! charge
défendez cette position defend this position
en joue present
ne tirez pas! do not shoot! (surrender)
baïonnette au canon! fix bayonets
compagnie, en avant marche advance
écrasez-les crush them
à l'attaque to the attack
retirez-vous fall back
on se rend retreat
compagnie, derrière-moi behind me (follow command)
compagnie, suivez-moi follow me
*Vive la Patrie long live the fatherland
*Vive la France
*Vive l'Empereur

An avant a French for FORWARD!!

Vive l'Empreur is long live the emperor

Vice la patrie is long live the fatherland
Do believe these are misspelled a little

I went into the sounds folder, and actually to be quite honest judging off of what they named some of the files, I'm not too sure if they're accurate or not. One of the final "s" sounds was pronounced in "chargez les baïonnettes" and I think the verb écraser was misspelled. Anyone who speaks better French please feel free to correct anything. Also I thought the verb "to fire" was "tirer?" I also noticed "fren_vibatrie1.wav" and "fren_alatacke2.wav" were typed that way when the command is spelled "vive la patrie" or "à l'attaque." (I know they're abbreviating but there's no ck or b, etc) Idk if these are reliable or not but please correct me.

I don't think FSE paid great attention to make sure they spelled them correctly. Which is perfectly reasonable, giving it's a minor detail.
Polan is of dangerous to FSE
Im from Poland , a land of lawlessness

Yeah, totally. Just want to make it clear that I'm not exactly sure if they're reliable or not.
