The 70th (Glasgow Lowland) Regiment of Foot is primarily an artillery regiment who aim to form an enjoyable experience for all, we recruit anyone within Europe (and beyond if you can make our events:p) who can be as active as they can. We will do multiple events a week such as 1v1's, Events that both arty and line can attend and training. New members of the regiment will be required to use historical Scottish names. The layout of this thread is as follows: Rosters can be found on this main post, the ranking system(s) can be found underneath on the 1st reply. The Regimental Staff are Etherton, Alasdaaaairo & English all 3 can be found on steam with links provided in the Communications section, if you would be interested in joining do not hesitate to add anyone of these gentlemen. In 1756 Britain was engaged in the Seven Years War (1756-63) and thus in need of troops. One of the regiments given a 2nd Battalion that year was the 31st Regiment. Two years later, however, that battalion became a regiment in its own right, to be stationed and recruiting from Scotland. The Regiment was known as the 70th (Glasgow Lowland) Regiment of Foot. The regiment was first posted abroad to the West Indies for 10 years were it suffered heavy losses due to disease, The regiment was then returned to Scotland to renew numbers and was posted to North America during the American war of independence (1775-83). During the closing stages of the American war of independence the Regiment formally gained a county title of 'Surrey'. In 1881 the name of the 70th ceased to exist and unified with the 31st Regiment of Foot to become the 2nd Battalion of the East Surrey Regiment.
