Turn off Team Killing.
« on: August 08, 2015, 10:56:00 pm »
Every time the main servers get populated, someone joins and always TK for around 30 mins straight. The TK'er finally leaves after driving around 15 players off the server.

I had to stay in spawn and kill the TK'er upon spawning, for around 20 mins. It wasn't fun, and could have been easily avoided.

TURN TK'ING OFF.

Medics don't work with TK on.

I'm sure the more realistic solution is more admins.

Usually log in the server on a daily basis(and lolman going on quite active) and I always remind everyone my steam name incase anything is happening of any rule break. I have always tried to be active and gotten to the server as soon as possible once requested. Lolman1c/Max/Me(Elwyn)/Other are not robots, if we choose to enable auto ban people who didn't intentionally meant to TK do eventually get banned and if we chose to turn off TK then the medic system won't work.

RichieEB is my steam name, Lolman1c or [IE DEV] Lolman1c should be easy to find in steam as well. If you have us on steam and report it directly to us when we're off/busy then you can help us stop rule breaking players!  ;3

I know its a pain but we've banned players atleast once to three times a week of either being temp or perm depending the situation.

From what I've seen, the only thing that really, really works is a perm ban with a semi-generous appeal system. The people who really didn't mean to teamkill are more likely to be the ones appealing to be unbanned.

Auto-ban works for this, too. If someone keeps teamkilling, regardless of if they meant to or not, should probably not be playing the game at that time anyway, since it begins to impair the fun for others.

The most important part is to just make sure people are aware of the ban appeals. If someone is TKing to troll they probably don't care that much about being banned, they'll just brush it off and quit playing. The ones who do appeal you can just keep track of and stop unbanning.

The server tends to reset itself turning all this stuff off. I try to admin the servers everyday at peak times but I do have a life and can't always make it. When the servers get super populated again we will prob try to find more admins.

You're right with the ban idea to people who care of the mod and those that don't, usually the rule is that a teamkill intended is equal to a permament ban from what the server host told me and I agree so we've been doing that ever since and we have gotten requests of unban online on forum and steam so we'll just keep it that way but Lolman1c did mention he'll look at seeing having more admins ;3

I applied almost two years ago and didn't make the cut, I presume from either age, experience, or lack of a need for more admins, and I wasn't playing that much back then to really qualify, and without a reason to stay loyal to playing in public servers I stopped altogether, but with 2.0 presumably coming out pretty soon I've been pretty motivated to start playing regularly. Personally trolling is a big turn off for me so hopefully the admin team can get some guys on board to fill in those gaps.
